Maintaining your hearing devices is crucial to ensuring they work at their best. One of the most common issues that can affect sound quality is a clogged or old wax guard.
If your hearing device isn’t working as it should or sounds weak, the wax guard might need to be replaced.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you change your wax guard and keep your hearing device functioning optimally.
Steps to Replace Your Wax Guard
- 1. Remove the Dome Start by peeling back and removing the dome from the speaker of your hearing device. This will expose the wax guard, which is the part you need to replace.
- 2. Use the Wax Guard Stick Take out a new wax guard stick from the packaging. These sticks come with two ends: one for removing the old wax guard and the other for inserting the new one.
- 3. Remove the Old Wax Guard Insert the removal end of the wax guard stick into the old wax guard and pull it out carefully. This step ensures any blockage caused by earwax buildup is removed.
- 4. Insert the New Wax Guard Turn the wax guard stick around and use the other end to insert a fresh wax guard into your hearing device.
- 5. Replace the Dome Once the new wax guard is securely in place, reattach the dome to the speaker.
By following these steps, your hearing device should work clearly again. It’s a good idea to change your wax guard every month to keep everything functioning optimally and to prevent any future sound issues.
