How to Re-establish a Lost Hearing Device Connection to Your iPhone

by | Oct 11, 2024 | Uncategorised

If your hearing devices have lost connection to your iPhone, don’t worry—re-establishing the connection is simple.

Whether you have Starkey, Widex, Signia, ReSound, or Oticon hearing devices, this guide will walk you through the process step by step to get you reconnected and back to enjoying seamless audio.

Steps to Reconnect Your Hearing Devices to Your iPhone

1. Restart Your Hearing Device Application

The first step is to try restarting the hearing device app on your phone. Close the app completely and then reopen it to see if that re-establishes the connection.

2. Toggle Bluetooth

  1. If restarting the app doesn’t work, turn off Bluetooth on your iPhone, wait a few seconds, and turn it back on. This often helps refresh the connection.

3. Restart Your iPhone

If the first two steps don’t help, try restarting your iPhone entirely. This will refresh the system and could help re-establish the connection.

4. Forget and Reconnect Your Hearing Devices

If none of the previous steps are successful, try forgetting and reconnecting your hearing devices:

    1. Go to Settings > Accessibility > Hearing Devices.
    2. You may see a spinning wheel next to one or both devices. Place your hearing devices in their charger.
    3. Tap on your hearing devices in the listing and press Forget This Device.
    4. Your iPhone will now search for your hearing devices.
    5. Remove your hearing devices from the charger. Once your iPhone finds them, you will see your name displayed.
    6. If you are using two devices, wait until you see both R and L before proceeding. If you have a single device, select it accordingly.
    7. Tap Pair twice. Your devices should now be reconnected.

5. Keep Your iPhone Software Up to Date

To prevent future connectivity issues, ensure that your iPhone is running the latest software version.
