No two pairs of ears are the same, and everyone hears the world differently. When you partner with us for your hearing care, your hearing loss treatment will be personalized to fit your specific needs, including hobbies, lifestyle choices, budget, comfort, and more.

But if you’re just getting started with hearing healthcare—or you’re reading this to see if it would be the right choice for your needs—where do you even start?

To help “lift the curtain” and show prospective patients the journey they’re about to embark on, we created this graphic to illustrate every step that you take as you work toward better hearing outcomes. It’s much simpler than you might think!

The First Crucial Steps

You’ve already completed step one by being here: you have found the most advanced audiology clinic in Sarasota and Bradenton! That was easy, right?

If you haven’t already, booking your first appointment is a breeze. You’ll start your hearing health journey with a comprehensive hearing evaluation so that you can understand your current range of hearing and we can start crafting your personalized treatment.

Your first hearing test with us will begin with an initial conversation about you and your lifestyle choices, including hobbies, medications, budget and insurance, and more so we can get to know you better as both our patient and our partner.

After a quick external examination of your ears to check for infection or earwax impaction (which we can take care of for you!), we’ll move along to the testing portion, where you’ll be tested for your understanding of speech in noise, the frequencies you can hear, how your hearing helps your reflexes, and more.

You’ll receive the results of your hearing test on the same day, and whether your results show a hearing loss or not, we’ll move into different steps.

The Path Diverges

If your test results show no hearing loss, we’ll invite you to schedule another hearing test in a year’s time. Just like we do with the dentist and the optician, keeping tabs on your hearing health with annual testing will ensure we both stay up to date on any changes that might affect your health.

If your test results do show that you’re struggling with a hearing loss, then your audiologist will take your answers into account from your first chat and begin to craft your personalized treatment plan, which may include hearing aids to correct any hearing loss struggles.

Your initial fitting will include real ear measurement so that our team can make sure your hearing aid fits snugly in and/or around your ear without causing discomfort or stress. The device you choose (with guidance from your audiologist) will be programmed and fitted to your specific prescription, much like when you invest in prescription eyeglasses.

You’ll be sent off with your hearing aid(s) and return after a short period to consider your real-world feedback, which your audiologist will use to refine the programming of your hearing aid so it better serves your needs.

Hearing Care That Lasts a Lifetime

You’ll continue to see your audiologist for follow-up appointments ranging from technology assessments to help you best utilize all the features of your hearing aids to maintenance appointments for cleaning and inspection for your hearing aid’s care and protection.

We’ll also encourage you to book annual hearing tests so you can keep watch over your hearing as it changes, which allows your audiologist to adjust your devices as needed so they continue to support you and your hearing.

Hearing rediscovered, life transformed!
