We are very proud to live here in Sarasota, specifically Gulf Gate. That’s why we simply had to start this article series called “Love Local,” which highlights locally owned businesses right here in town.
We’ve become close with many of you throughout the years of treating hearing loss among local residents. This area is full of people with big hearts and kind souls.
Being a part of this wonderful community is an absolute joy and privilege, and we love coming to work every day. We also see the same joy in various other businesses and want to let everyone know about them.
For our first “Love Local” piece, we are shining the spotlight on a scrumptious, locally owned business in town: Clarabell Cookies.
The owners demonstrate everything that makes this town so incredible by providing exceptional service with passion and dedication. These are things we strive for each and every day as well.

What Makes Clarabell Cookies So Delicious
It might be hard to beat our own grandmother’s best-ever home baked chewy cookies, but Clarabell is undoubtedly making a strong case. By using the freshest and highest quality ingredients, they are giving grandmothers everywhere a run for their money. Just go ahead and hang up your apron, Granny.
You can tell how much effort goes into each recipe, as it must have taken months of trial and error to find the perfect balance of flavor and texture-to-chew ratio.
They only offer a few flavors, but that is to ensure they don’t take away from how well the cookie is baked. I can confidently say they’ve mastered the art.

Of course, all the flavors are top-tier, but if it’s your first visit, start with these:
Classic Chocolate Chip – Every place is judged by its chocolate chip, and this one doesn’t disappoint. Keeping the recipe simple works incredibly well.
Double Dark Chocolate Chip – Indulge in this lip-smacking treat if you’re ready to kick it up a notch. Bursting with dark chocolate chunks of heaven, this creation is part cookie, part brownie. Have a glass of milk nearby!
Funfetti – Here’s where Clarabell’s skill and creativity shine. This light sugar cookie is made with pure vanilla and topped with colorful sprinkles. This scrumptious, melt-in-your-mouth cookie will transport you straight back to your childhood as memories of birthday cake play over your tongue.
Peanut Butter – If it’s a soft cookie you crave, let me introduce you to the softest around. This velvety cookie is packed with all-natural peanut butter and blended with fine sugar and creamy butter. No matter the time of day, these always taste like they just came out of the oven. Get in my belly!
Brief History
Opened back in 2019, it’s been an understandably bumpy first few years for Clarabell Cookies. Siblings Clara and Gates noticed a lack of cookie options here in Sarasota and decided to give the people what they want: warm, delicious, fresh-baked cookies!
Before opening, they were hard at work perfecting the recipes. After six long months, they were armed with some of the best cookie flavors I’ve ever tasted.
Since then, word has been getting around about how incredible they are, and we are so happy for them. We hope their success continues, and one thing’s for sure: I’ll be there as long as they are open!
How to Get Your Hands on Them
For the hands-down best quality cookies in town, visit their location on Mall Drive in Sarasota. If you can’t make it, take advantage of their delivery options through Uber Eats and DoorDash. They make it easy so you can satisfy your sweet tooth no matter where you are.
They are also working on special corporate packages to help make it easy for offices to enjoy throughout the work week. Rest assured, we will be first in line to take advantage of their special deals. Ssssh, don’t spread it around or there’ll be none left for us! No, seriously, where’s my wallet?
